Curriculum
1. General Curriculum. The General Curriculum meets the requirements
for graduation set forth by the State of Kansas, the Diocese of Wichita, and
the local School Council. Students who enroll in this curriculum may not be
eligible to enroll in Kansas Board of Regents institutions upon completion of
high school. General Curriculum graduates may also find it difficult to enroll
in colleges and universities outside the State of Kansas. Students should be
able to enroll in many of the two year colleges and vocational programs throughout
the state. If you are enrolled in the General Curriculum and are planning to
enroll in some type of post-secondary educational institution after graduation,
it is important that you contact the institutions for a copy of their admission
requirements as soon as possible.
- Religion - 4
units or ½ unit for each semester enrolled at St. Mary's-Colgan.
- English - 4
½ units - One unit of English must be taken each year
that the student is enrolled in school. An additional ½
unit of speech, debate, or forensics is also required.
- Mathematics
- 2 units - to be taken starting in the freshman year.Sciences
- 2 units - Physical Science and Biology.
- Social Science
- 3 units - 1 ½ units of American History; ½ units
American Government; ½ unit World Geography; ½
unit social science elective.
- Computer Technology
- I unit
- Physical Education/Health
- I unit
- Electives -
8 ½ units - a minimum of 26 units is required for graduation.
2. Kansas Regents Curriculum. Students who graduate
with a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average in this curriculum
will be eligible to enroll in Kansas Board of Regents Institutions.
This curriculum will not quality students for Scholarships and
other programs offered under the Kansas Honors program. Students
who choose to attend college out of state may not meet all requirements
for other states and should contact the institutions as soon as
possible to obtain a copy of their admissions requirements.

units or ½ unit for each semester enrolled at St. Mary's-Colgan.
- English - 4
½ units - One unit of English must be taken each year
that the student is enrolled in school. An additional ½
unit of speech, debate, or forensics is also required.
- Mathematics
- 3 units - Beginning with Algebra I and to be taken starting
in the freshman year.
- Sciences - 3
units - Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry.
- Social Science
- 3 units - 1 ½ units of American History; ½ units
American Government; ½ unit World Geography; ½
unit social science elective.
- Computer Technology
- 1 unit
- Physical Education/Health
- 1 unit
- Electives -
6 ½ units - a minimum of 26 units is required for graduation.
In addition to
the above requirements the Kansas Board of Regents recommends
but does not require the following:
- Foreign Language
- 2 units of the same language
- Fine and/or
Performing Arts - 1 unit
3. The Honors Curriculum. Students who graduate
with a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average in the Honors Curriculum
will meet the Kansas State Qualified Admissions and the Kansas
State Scholarship Curriculum. Students planning to go to college
out of state should check with the university or college of their
choice for any additional requirements.

unit social science elective.

- Physical Education/Health
- 1 unit
