At SMC we work hard to help students do well in school. That means not only getting good grades, but thinking about careers and colleges, having good background preparation for standardized tests, and scheduling and planning for these tests. Much of this workload falls on the senior and junior high counselors. More than that, the counselors help students and their families through the crucial period of adolescence, when the potential for emotional stress and crisis is great.
