St. Mary's Catholic Grade School Physical Education

All work and no play, the saying goes, make the mind dull. Youth have energy and some of it needs to be used in action. All grades, except kindergarten, have time for physical education (PE).

In addition, recess is an important part of the day. St. Mary's Grade School has two playgrounds. The "old" playground is right behind the school. Recently remodeled with parishioner contributions, this playground gets before- and after-school action.

In 2000, a new playground was finished on the north side of 10th Street across from the old gymnasium using a small part of the larger practice field. This playground has become a favorite of both students and teachers. It was made possible with special donations.
